Sydney based architect Alan Powell and a local builder collaborated to design moveable black boxes, consciously crafted for a simple, restful and nature fuelled stay. A contemporary take on the humble Aussie "bush shack"

Built to be aligned with the natural landscape and its surroundings, one may think they are camping in the bush thanks to the builder’s vision for a family home that gives the experience of a camping holiday only without the sacrifices of luxury modern amenities.

Structurally the cabin is built for the elements and includes floor to ceiling double glazed windows for the north/east facing views,  wool carpets for insulation, double insulation and multiple heating devices including Nobu panel heaters, gas fireplace, underfloor heating and outdoor fire pit all built to help you unwind and reconnect with nature and each other. 

Modern commodities and luxury design are evident throughout the 80-square metre cabin allow for ease and simple living. A state of the art custom kitchen, with native timber island centres the cabin to encourage slow, mindful cooking. Guests can enjoy artisan tea brand Love Tea during their stay and the pantry will always be stocked with marshmallows for toasting on the fire.

Soft lighting and handmade pendants have been carefully positioned as well as multiple nooks for the kids to play or the parents to retreat to and enjoy those quiet moments. Natural sunlight pours into the north facing home to add warmth for those restful days snuggled up under a woollen throw.

Skylights above each bed allow guests to gaze from the comfort of their beds to the clear Alpine starlit skies found only removed from the city's landscapes. Underfloor heating in both the modern vanity and bathroom ensure winter mornings are welcomed underfoot.

For all the adventure seekers, guests have a mudroom on entry, including a bench seat to offload their adventure wares and dry off for the next outdoor escapade.

Rise to the fresh Alpine air from the outdoor shower for those willing, gaze out to the kangaroos grazing and hear the kookaburras laughing all while you bask in the natural rugged surroundings from the comfort of Common Kosci.
